Our History

A true community effort, construction on the Phoenix Plaza Civic Center was completed in the summer of 2018. A 5+ year effort made possible by the citizens of Phoenix, Phoenix's Urban Renewal Agency, and the City, the Civic Center offers a bright and comfortable location for community members to gather and engage with local government.

Phoenix Plaza is a spark for further development in Downtown Phoenix and offers a blank canvas for both private and public events. The beautifully landscaped park-side exterior and the newly developing wetland park in the natural wetland area behind the Phoenix Plaza offer opportunities for passive recreation and the protection of our community's natural environment.

The building was designed by Kistler + Small + White architecture firm and built by Adroit Construction Co.

Many community members came out to celebrate the completion of Phoenix Plaza in July, 2018.

Community Rentals

Our 6,000+ square foot building is perfect for any event; luncheons, civic banquets, birthday parties, civic club events, anniversary celebrations, corporate events, conferences, trade and business expos, job fairs, receptions and much, much more! If your event needs more than one meeting or event space, the Multipurpose Room can be divided into two separate smaller areas.

Our staff will assist you in creating just the right room arrangement for your upcoming event. Our open catering policy allows you to choose your own preferred caterer. We also have an open vendor policy, so customers are free to bring their own technical support for lighting and sound.

Civic Engagement

Not only is Phoenix Plaza a great place for events - it is the hub for civic engagement in Phoenix. The Civic Center hosts City Council and Committee meetings, the City's volunteer and recreation programs, and an assortment of community events. You can see a calendar of City meetings here.
